Paul Drayton opens T3A’s new season with his entertaining and informative “words and music” event, which will whet our appetites for the coming performances with his interesting and insightful observations on both music and performers.
Paul, who has enjoyed a long and distinguished career as pianist, composer, conductor and teacher, shares his insights on the season ahead in his own inimitable style with piano accompaniment and other recorded musical illustrations.

David Nettle & Richard Markham are fast approaching the 50th year of their piano duo partnership, one of a handful of international ensembles whose dedication and commitment have stood the test of time and, as such, brings a special kind of expertise and experience to the concert platform.
​​
Their varied recital and concerto performances encompass not only standard repertoire but also neglected or lesser known works, and they have commissioned major new compositions for four hands as well making their own original, virtuoso two-piano transcriptions.

Nicolas Daniel founded the Britten Oboe Quartet together with his colleagues who all bring to this ensemble not only the highest musical standards but also the experience of playing together over many years, resulting in warm, expressive and above all enjoyable playing. They perform music of the highest quality and explore lesser-known works both from Britain and from abroad, as well as standard classics such as Mozart's oboe quartet.

Their repertoire includes oboe and cor anglais quartets by a variety of composers including Britten, Berkeley, Elisabeth Lutyens. Their imaginative programming embraces repertoire other than the oboe quartet, often including string trios, solo works and other chamber music combinations. They relish the challenge of programming a well-balanced and attractive concert in line with specific themes and can be sure to find something new and interesting for every concert.

BBC New Generation artist, Royal Over-Seas League Gold medallist and Classic FM Rising Star, Ryan Corbett is an accordionist hailed by Sir James MacMillan as "one of the most astonishing and surprising newcomers in Scottish music." A leading exponent of his instrument, he has given over sixteen hours of radio broadcasts and a televised performance at the Scottish Coronation of HM King Charles III.

Corbett has enlarged the repertoire by creating hundreds of new arrangements for accordion, but no matter how strong his passion for the instrument, it is his dedication to musical integrity that takes precedence.

Elena Urioste is a musician, yogi, writer and entrepreneur, whose musical passion and honesty communicates to audiences across both solo and chamber music repertoire. As a soloist, she has performed with major orchestras across the world and receives regular invitations to festivals. She performed concertos at the 2022 and 2023 BBC Proms.
​
Tom Poster is a musician whose skills and passions extend well beyond the conventional role of the concert pianist. He has been described as a "marvel, (who) can play anything in any style" (The Herald). During the 2020 lockdown, his #UriPosteJukeBox series with Elena Urioste brought a staggeringly eclectic selection of music to audiences across the world through 88 daily online performances, for which the duo won the Royal Philharmonic Society's Inspiration Award.

Prize-winning Catalan cellist Gerard Flotats is a versatile young musician performing a wide spectrum of music, from Baroque on historical instruments to contemporary compositions with electronics. Winner of the Royal Over-Seas League Strings Competition 2023, he has also been selected for the Munster Trust Recital scheme. Gerard aims to make classical music more relevant and resonant for today's audiences through innovative performances. He is passionate about showcasing lesser-known pieces and collaborates with composers to introduce contemporary music to new listeners.

Rapidly developing a reputation as one of the most innovative pianists of his generation, Julian Chan has given performances at a number of prestigious venues across the UK, including the Wigmore Hall and the Sheldonian Theatre.

Red Priest - recently described in the New York Times as 'the wildly virtuosic little band' - has been at the cutting edge of baroque music performance for over a quarter of a century. The brainchild of recorder virtuoso Piers Adams and violinist Julia Bishop, and named after the original 'red priest' Antonio Vivaldi, the quartet has developed a truly unique style, combining high-energy performance, boundary crossing arrangements and theatrical presentation, delighting audiences across the globe.
